Fustinberg

Not a Gutenberg revival.

We all know that blackletter fonts need more spikes and fewer curves. This typeface is certainly not an interpretation of the B42 bible type, and whether it was also inspired by 15th-century German woodcuts and engravings is anybody's guess. Whatever it is, it's synthetic, it's edgy, and it's space-conscious.

That's right, this typeface is very polite and keeps its hands to itself. Instead of ligatures, Fustinberg employs some distinctly Gutenbergian contextual alternates to solve for glyph pairs that would typically clash in a blackletter font. No touchy-touchy!

Did we mention that there are no ligatures? These alternates are also available as a complete, spurless stylistic set.
